MathHouse Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Real World Educational Products, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes MathHouse, also called The House That Math Built. This policy explains how information is handled when you use MathHouse on iPad or Mac, visit this website, or contact us for support.

Learning progress on your device

MathHouse saves learning information on your device so you can continue a build and review progress. This includes answers, calculator work, scores, completed and skipped activities, use of help, activity timings, building progress, and current and previous game sessions. The app also saves preferences such as sound settings.

MathHouse does not use accounts or cloud sync. Its learning activities run on your device and can be used without an internet connection. You do not need to provide a learner’s name or email address to play. Saved learning records remain on your device and are not automatically uploaded to us. Limited activity context can be included in technical reports, as described below.

Other people who can open the app on a shared device can view its progress. Device backups, Apple settings, and school device-management arrangements may also affect how local app data is backed up or retained.

Crash reports and technical diagnostics

MathHouse uses Sentry crash reporting to help us identify crashes, investigate errors, and improve reliability. Reports can include crash details, device and operating system information, app version, diagnostic identifiers, and error codes. Limited context can include the screen being viewed, activity number, construction milestone, activity-completion events, and asset-loading results.

The reporting code does not add answers, calculator expressions, scores, attempt counts, learning-session identifiers, saved session files, or purchase receipts to custom reports. Screenshots, screen recordings, and automatic network-activity tracking are disabled. These reports help explain technical failures; they do not provide a remote student-progress dashboard. Sending diagnostic reports requires an internet connection; the learning activities can still be used offline.

Sentry processes diagnostic information as our service provider. See Sentry’s privacy policy.

App Store downloads and purchases

Apple handles downloads and in-app payments. MathHouse uses Apple’s StoreKit service to check whether additional activities have been unlocked and to restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card information. Apple handles Apple Account, billing, and purchase information under Apple’s privacy policy.

Support communications

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve support issues. Our email service providers process those communications to deliver and store them. Please avoid sending a child’s name, school records, or other sensitive information unless needed for your request.

Children, families, and educators

MathHouse is an educational game for learners, including children under 13. The app does not ask learners to register or submit personal contact information. Learning summaries let families and educators review work on the device without creating an online student account or automatically sending schoolwork to us.

Parents, guardians, and educators can contact us with privacy questions or requests on a learner’s behalf. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a support message, contact us so we can review it and arrange appropriate deletion.

Advertising and sharing

MathHouse does not display third-party advertising or track users across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not sell learning records or use them for targeted advertising. Service providers process information for the support and diagnostic purposes described here. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the security of our services.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Learning records remain in the app’s local storage, including previous sessions. Starting a new build archives the earlier session; it does not delete the history. To remove saved work, remove the app’s data from the device. On Mac, deleting the app alone may leave saved data behind; contact us for help locating and removing it. Backups and school-managed copies must be managed separately through the relevant device, Apple, or school settings.

We cannot remotely access or delete learning records stored only on your device. For support messages or diagnostic information held by us or our service providers, email us to request access, correction, or deletion, or to raise a concern about processing. Some reports may not contain enough information to identify a particular person. We may need to verify your request and retain information where required by law.

This website

This website has no account-registration forms, advertising, or third-party analytics. The optional browser math sample keeps answers in memory while the page is open. It does not save them in cookies or browser storage, send them to a server, or connect to your MathHouse game progress. Gameplay and help recordings are served as website files.

The hosting service receives network information needed to deliver pages and recordings, such as your IP address and the requested file. App Store links open Apple’s service, which has its own privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If a change requires notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it before that change takes effect.
